How to rescue my data files before reconfiguring the 2 HD's of my desktop PC?!

A Windows or Linux data partition?

If Windows - is Windows still functioning OK? Nothing you need to
retrieve from there?

Wow, that is an old version to keep around! 8.04 I could understand,
as it is an LTS release, but 7.anything?

OK. Where was this mounted when in use? /home or what?
