Prog with Ubuntu 10.04 BETA1 (Lucid)

Hi All

Well after my last try to upgrade (stopped after 9 hours) I downloaded the ISO 

Made a "live" USB (using USB Unstaller) and tried to boot from that
Got the menu but boot hung (I think) at the "logo and dots" (5 red) screen

So I burnt the ISO to CD and tried again, no menu this time, hung again at the 
logo & dots

AMD Athlon XP2600, nVidia MX440, 1gb Ram

Any one have any other ideas

I re-made a 9.10 USB drive so maybe I can "upgrade" that from the CD? pointers 
on that please
