NEW Problem WITH UBUNTU STARTUP

i dont remember who, i think dothan led him/her through recreating the
"ashwin" user to get access to the homedir again ...
indeed that didnt bring back any of the deleted system users ...
given that things like dbus or hal dont function without the proper user
setup which is dynamically created during install and given that hal is
used in jaunty to drive mouse and keyboard, i would consider that system
completely trashed (these dynamiocally created system users vary in
their IDs from system to system, it will take ages to get them all set
up properly again).
backing up the hoimedir and reinstalling a clean system would be the
best way to go ...
