As the OP who started this mess ...
I work in a school that is heavily Mac. Everyone simply refers to the
"mac Labs', the teacher's "Mac's ( 99% laptops). We have some
specialized classrooms that run Ubuntu on a thin-client architecture.
They're "the Ubuntu Labs". Our business department department runs
Windows, but they are simply referred to as "PCs". My desktop computer
is a Windows/Wubi machine, which is simply called "Mark's Computer".
My use of the term PC came from the shorthand used in my work place.
There PC = Windows.
When I said "PC", I did, indeed, mean Windows. I have also been guilt of
"windoze" and "window$. I use them as simply a pejorative term because I
don't care for their business practices. At the same time, when I use
"mac" I mean it in the same way. Friends who do a lot of graphic work
swear by them, but they keep a second computer with a different OS for
all their other work.
So, the short answer (I know, too late) is yes I mean my days of running
Windows.
I apologize and will try to be more specific in my language in the future.
