Ubuntu as router for MAC ? Avahi vs Dhcp

eth0 has an IP address, but it's listed under eth0:avahi. It might be
possible for other machines to use that address as a default gateway.
Or perhaps you can create another alias like eth0:1 with a static address.
The avahi address might not always stay the same.
