Other than being a massive waste of time. It no longer becomes Debian/Ubuntu.
For example a ton of packages have build scripts to keep things in line with
the distro's values. Debian for example removes several blobs from the kernel.
They even have a package to help build kernels the debian way.

In short, no. Your idea of rebuilding your Ubuntu binaries w/ w/o flags,
options, etc is not an option.

Just start a LFS project. http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/ Or start using Gentoo.
