Yes, and it appears from reading a couple of links that users often 
connect with usb modems.  One of the comments was this:
"Any USB broadband connection is a recipe for pain.
Buy a decent ethernet modem/router instead of trying to cope with 
free(read cheap and rubbish) USB modems."

Perhaps it really IS relevant to OP's post?
