It would help if you said just what file you are
talking about.  Several were mentioned in my reply.

You really don't give enough feedback for us to know
exactly what you've done.  You've done that just exactly where.  there are several places you could do that and they are different in many cases from 32 bit  Jaunty.
FYI, i have the latest libflashplayer-10.0.32.18.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz installed in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins probably because that is what the flash site said how to install it.  I also have it installed in the other browser dirs and flash works for them too.
Perhaps with some more info from you, someone on the list may be able to help you. What did you use to install libflashplayer.so?  How did you install it?  From repos or from a *.tar.gz?  If you used a non-repo file, like the tar.gz, did you follow the install directions given on the site.  You may have mentioned this before but the thread has been going aroung for a while and I don't recall.  You need to help us help you a bit more.
