Can I use webcam in my Ubuntu 9.04

Correction: Pidgin only supports voice/video chat for a limited number
of protocols, i.e. only XMPP/gtalk, and only on *nixes. see here:

Also, if you want to use your webcam in linux, it would be helpful to
know what it is, and if it already works elsewhere. Can you take
pictures/video with the camera in Cheese or Camorama? 

If the camera doesn't work elsewhere, and it's an internal camera please
run in the terminal, and give us the output of "lspci" and "lsusb"

If the camera is external please un-plug it, run "lspci" and "lsusb"
then plug it in, and run "dmesg | tail", "lspci" and "lsusb", providing
the output from each clearly marked.
