I've never had trouble playing you tube videos in gxine, and full screen
there is simply 'F' key. This should work equally well with vlc and
mplayer.
It occurs to me, since I wrote this, that I have no idea what kind of
hardware you have. It's possible your video chip is something not fully
supported in Linux, and you're viewing your desktop in just VESA
compatible VGA. In which case, video viewing in general would probably
not work well at all. Can you watch a DVD movie on your system when in
Ubuntu?
Though why anyone would find you tube quality viewable in full screen is
another matter.
