If that is what you want, you have been given some good suggestions.
But hear me out on the VM issue.
One reason for a VM is to be able to switch without a reboot. I have
become an advocate of virtualbox-puel Sun has a repository for that
version linked in the "download" page or you can DL a deb. The
virtualbox-ose version is in the standard repos. It is pretty darn
slick and at least in my mind easier to install than a dual boot.
Another great thing about a VM is that you do not in any way put your
existing install at risk. If you decide you have no use for fedora,
then there is no uninstall, no reconfiguring of GRUB, nothing, you just
delete the VM and it's disk image. (Actually, vbox may do that last bit
for you, i have not tried that yet).
I for one looked at VM with skepticism and thought the dual boot was the
best / easiest way to go. VBox was so easy I have totally changed my mind.
