    No, it doesn't.  It tells you the number of downloads, not the number of
installs or continued usage.  If you went by my download numbers you'd thing I
had a server farm in my garage.  I wish.  You'd also be completely off on an
individual OS install on any OS I have downloaded.  Basically, if a metric
can, and often does, have wild swings of 50%-75% or more they are useless.

    The web stats, presented as percentages, at least show something useful,
current active usage.  It lets you know what people are using on their
computer, not what people are using as a coaster.
