I agree.  The simple acat script is pretty minimal and is a good
solution.  However, sometimes you do not have the luxury of installing
your own scripts on Unix/Linux machines and have to make do with the
standard set of commands.  I guess I am thinking too much like an
enterprise system administrator and not a single user desktop user!
