If you install to a home folder you will be able to automatically and/or
manually check for Fx updates. Simple, easy to do & very much ahead of
the (U)Fx curve. Same for SeaMonkey & Thunderbird.

but tend to lag behind those of the mozilla updates (albeit for Fx only
by a day or two... sometimes for weeks w/SeaMonkey etc). Also note that
key development resources are placed on Fx 3.5.x, SM 2.0.x, TB 3.0.x;
the *only* development resources that are assigned to the earlier
versions are for security patches.
