Two month go I was faced with a similar problem (a broken keyboard on my
old Vaio laptop) and I then couldn't afford to buy a USB one for another
2 weeks.

I enabled assistive technologies when booting from a live CD then
enabled an on-screen keyboard that I could use with a USB mouse.
Maybe a similar approach can help you too.
