What was the error message when it failed? I just got a lot of practice
resolving weird issues w/ broken software over the weekend, because I
accidentally overwrote python with a (failed) build of a newer python I
did myself. Broke nearly Everything graphical on my system, and took me
a whole day to set right.
On the plus side, I finally figured out how to use vi :)
