In Nautilus (at least in 9.04 and 8.04) if you right click there is an
option "send to". You have to set Thunderbird as your preferred
Email-Client in Settings -> Preferred Applications-> Internet.
(Or just execute gnome-default-applications-properties in a Terminal,
the window will pop up.)
If you use the right click send to option in Nautilus, you have 3 options:
"Send as"
1. Email (Evolution)
2. Removable Disks and Shares (never used that)
3. CD/DVD Creator
If you want to send an Email select the first option even if it says
Evolution (you are not required to enter an email address in the "send
to field"). If you selected thunderbird as your default email client the
thunderbird compose message dialogue pops up when you click on "send".
Then you can access the thunderbird contact list as well.
Your problem should be solved.
If Evolution is shown even when Thunderbird is selected, I would
consider this a bug. Maybe a karmic user could check this behaviour and
file a bug if it is still present.
Franz.
