Hi all,
i am new to the list. I looked at the archives, and it says "Archives Closed"?.
So, a short question: Has anyone installed the Epson AL C1100 usb onto Ubuntu 9.04?
What I have tried:
I have an error when I try to print a test page straight after the installation was complete.
The printer was installed and shows up as "ready".
When I print a test page, an error is given. Looking into it,
it says that pstoalc1100.sh has to be installed before the printer could be used.
Running /usr/local/bin/pstoalc1100.sh issues an error:
./pstoalc1100.sh
ERROR: ./pstoalc1100.sh: Un-known paper size
(On openSUSE English version it did not produce an error)
I used these installation procedures:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/68183 (#4) (Fixes 4 Syntax errors)
http://avasys.jp/eng/ (Provides drivers, which were converted with alien to .deb)
The line that issue this error is:
Line 89: test -z "$XY600" && msgerr "ERROR: $0: Un-known paper size" && exit 1
I did printer setups with "Printers" and "cups" (http://localhost:631)
Niether work. All want the pstoalc1100.sh fixed.
Can anyone help with the pstoalc1100.sh file please?
TIA
:-)
Al
