Question about VirtualBox

Hi, I am using Ubuntu 9.04 (also have a Windows Partition) and I have just installed VirtualBox.

I installed Windows XP on the VB and I just have a small question.

If Windows XP on VB contracts a virus, can it spread to my other OS's that are on the HDD and not in VB?
