Text editor recommendations

There is a HUGE choice of text editors in the Linux/OpenSource world.

You can start with the likes of "gedit" or "kedit" which will remind you of
Notepad and Wordpad in Windows.

But you will slowly realise that having a much more powerful editor like a
Vim(gVim) or Emacs will make your life peace.
