Good for Jaunty, but not fore Karmic.
There doesn't seem to be any roadmap yet for acroread for Karmic, On
the other hand, there is a bug report (fairly easily accessible) where
I've added my comments. At present we may just have to wait until an
"official" repository comes out.
Stuff I've tried so far:
1) finding a PPA
2) searching for a repository with Acroread. So far, have found
nothing, and all "restricted" repositories are supported.
3) trying a 32 bit deb in a 64 bit system. Easily findable, but not
optimal, and undesirable if you want to keep the whole update process
in a working order.
3) Existing packages that are available fo other releases won't
install normally because of dependency issues.
We may just have to wait until Karmic go live.
Meanwhile, I seem to have gotten some info that I can't yet verify
concerning PDF files that are not readable in any pdf viewer other
than Acrobat Reader. I thought that this should not be possible
because of standards.
