Question about firefox

Nothing in dmesg to indicate a problem there.

The Firefox going black and White is actually an effect from the compiz
window manager to indicate a program that isn't responding.

As for that site, it uses Adobe Flash, and that's where I would guess
the problem you're currently having really lies.  Have you installed
Adobe flash player, or are you using the Open source ones that come with
 ubuntu by default?  If you don't have it yet, I would try installing
Adobe Flash player (sorry, not sure on the best way to do this for
current Ubuntu) and if still having problems with that particular site,
would further try comparing 32-bit Flash vs 64-bit Flash.

Either way, however, if you find a site that causes a non-open source
binary to lock up, you aren't likely to find much help with the issue.
