Hi all,
this is my first post to this list, and here comes my problem.
I have to dump an EXT3-Filesystem with a size over than 200G to AIT-5
Tapes (Sony AIT Library Lib-81 with one AIT Tapedrive)
AIT-5: 400gb of native capacity in a compact 8mm Tape
Now, when I do a normal dump like:
# /sbin/dump -0aun -f /dev/nst0 /data1
dump is interrupts nearly at 200gig are dumped.
I also tried to compress it like:
# /sbin/dump -0aun -b 1024 -j9 -f /dev/nst0 /data1
same situation ;-(
here are some Hardware spezific outputs for our tapelibrary an tapedrive:
# cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
....
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 14 Lun: 00
Vendor: SONY Model: SDX-1100 Rev: 0103
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 03
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 15 Lun: 00
Vendor: SONY Model: LIB-81 Rev: 010B
Type: Medium Changer ANSI SCSI revision: 02
# mt -f /dev/nst0 status
drive type = Generic SCSI-2 tape
drive status = 855638016
sense key error = 0
residue count = 0
file number = 0
block number = 0
Tape block size 0 bytes. Density code 0x33 (unknown).
Soft error count since last status=0
General status bits on (41010000):
BOT ONLINE IM_REP_EN
I also tried to backup this Filesystem which 'tar cvpf and cvzpf' and
'cpio -ovcB'. Always the same situation.
We are running it on an Ubuntu 6.06.2 LTS - 2.6.15-51-server Box.
I know this Installation is really not up-to-date, because there are
running some applications which have priority No:1 here.
Any hints are welcome ;-)
Thanks
Richard
