[Karmic Beta] - Ghosts

I have ghosts in my karmic beta test machine... While doing today's
updates, which included some kernel stuff, the screen had gone blank
while downloading & installing the updates (standard power saver).  Next
thing I know karmic *reboots* all by itself, comes back up with a
default screen & *then* tells me that a restart is required w/option
buttons 'Restart Later' & 'Restart Now'. Well, duh, the POS just fully
rebooted!

Opps... I waited to long to try one of the options; screen has gone
black again & now doesn't respond to anything on the keyboard. No
Ctrl-Alt-F(x), nothing. Only way to recover was to pop the power switch
& then the system shut down.

Wow, I'm impressed! This is just like... *Windows*!
