5353, 224..., and _xxx._... point to avahi looking for or publishing a
seahorse or a gnome-keyring service (not sure which, sorry).

You can run
avahi-browse -avt | grep -i mymachine
to confirm.

I do not have an 8.04 box to confirm, but 9.04 does not publish that
service by default.
