Strange that you were able to do that even for Jaunty using Karmic when I couldn't having both medibuntu and canonical partners repos activated in Karmic.  Maybe, Karmic's canonical and medibuntu repos are not uptodate for acroread. If someone knows why acroread is no longer available in ubuntu repos, I sure wish they would speak up.  I wasn't able to come across any reasons by googling but who reads all the hits that come up-:o))
