Great, that's the news I was waiting for.  You can ignore my earlier post asking if you had ran update-grub.  However, one questions remains and since you upgraded over Jaunty it may not make any difference.  The question is did you install grub2(grub-pc) on Jaunty or Hardy before the Karmak upgrade?  Somewhere, I came across something saying that grub2 needed to be installed in Jaunty so that Karmak's grub2 would see the other OS's.  Apparently, the way you did things, grub2 doesn't have to be installed on Jaunty or Hardy but only to run update-grub on the Karmak install.
