Ditto, I invoked firefox 3 times, (moving to separate desktops).  3 from 
File->New Window, 3 from panel icon, 3 from 
Application->Internet->Firefox.  In all cases "X" = one close, 
"File->Close Window" = one close, and "File->Quit" = all closed.
