In general if you are going to use a terminal I have found it better to use
copy and paste on the directions.  Everything has to be exactly correct or
it will not work.  The pros are good at this but it does take some attention
to detail - an extra  space  will throw everything off.

However, congratulations on quickly moving up in the amateur ranks.

Next, I am assuming, you will want to tie your earthlink.net account into
Thunderbird.  I am sure some earthlink folks around here will be glad to
steer you in the correct direction.
