I usually change those lines to:

deb  http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/  karmic           main restricted
universe multiverse #Karmic Koala 9.10
deb  http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/  karmic-updates   main restricted
universe multiverse #Karmic Koala 9.10 - updates
deb  http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/  karmic-security  main restricted
universe multiverse #Karmic Koala 9.10 - security

It's just esthetics.
