I have the same card (pretty sure - G45 chipset) and X works right out
of the box. You generally don't need drivers as such; much if not all
of the supported stuff is in the kernel. With the current stable
(Jaunty 9.04) kernel my video card behaves a lot better than it did
when I tried it with the prior version of Ubuntu (Intrepid 8.10),
although there still are some glitches. #1 glitch so far are X /
screen freezes at random that practically require me to reset the
computer, but also other apps can cause similar crashes, even when
running with the beta (Karmic).
I'm tracking Karmic (upcoming Ubuntu release - should be ready 10/30)
and in some respects the video support is better, but I'm running that
on my Fujitsu Lifebook laptop only which also has Intel mobile
graphics support.
Your other device looks like a printer. If so, cups/hpijs/hplip should
support it fine, but check the model number first on
www.linuxprinting.org.
