You can't down load upgrades by using torrents.

When I've had partial upgrades in the past I've just kept running upgrade  
manage until everything is sorted. it might take two or three goes.  You  
may need to reboot the system between attempts.  There should be a reboot  
icon (circular blue arrow) on the top panel if you do.  Don't reboot  
unless you are told to do so though, as this can result in even more  
curious problems ;-)
