I think Mac is best known for "shiny", but I do agree that Apple
has done a good job in integration. But they do control the entire
ecosystem, from hardware to OS to apps. Yeah, I'm aware that
there is 3rd party apps, but Apple does seem to have the full
stack itself.

That's simple. Microsoft has a virtual monopoly. And when buying
a PC, you're almost guaranteed that Windows is the default. People
use what they get. The vast majority doesn't even know there are
alternatives. They may have heard of Mac, or even Linux but most
will go with the safe choice.
