Looks like it's trying to do wpa authentication. What does
/var/log/wicd.log show?
 (Note: *don't post* and information here from the log that may contain
sensitive info) - to view:

$ sudo su
# cd /var/log/widc/
# cat wicd.log
(or 'gedit wicd.log')
# exit
