Subject: Configuring Wireless on openSUSE

>I am a linux virgine. Last night I have installed openSUSE 11.1 on my
laptop. The default network manager is not detecting any wireless
networks. If anyone helps me to configure wireless on SUSE will be a
great help for me. Thanks

The default Network tool installed by suse in 11.1 is crap. It is easy
to click from the panel but it has no options and does not support WPA
at all. I tried to connect from it for over a week before figuring out
how to get connected. You will need to switch to a more capable tool.
Unfortunately it has been 4 or 5 months since I have used it so I don't
remember what it is called. Just look through the control panel until
you find the tool that lists WPA. This tool should work. That is, if
you know your network card is already configured.

Regards,

John
