cifs mount not working after 9.10 upgrade

Nope.  Works fine for me.  Is it possible that you have something else 
(empty) mounted on top of that mount point?

It's been working for me faultlessly for around a year.  The only thing I've 
seen change recently is that the boot splash screen now shows messages when 
it tries to mount my two cifs filesystems before the network is up - but 
they mount just fine once the network is available.
