Sounds like you have a problem of a religious nature.

Thunderbird's a good email client, with a large community writing add-ins for 
it.  I have issues with its editor on my Windows machines at work.  It 
randomly removes newlines and runs paragraphs together so that what ends up in 
the email isn't what I saw in the editor.

That said, it's a big step up from Outlook Express or Windows Mail, and 
there's no way I'd ever use Outlook for personal mail.

Fortunately for me, KMail is much better than Thunderbird in virtually every 
way, it's free, and it runs on all my Linux machines.  If it ever becomes 
available for Windows, I won't need Thunderbird at all.
