I don't have a DVB region option.

The "Source:" is blank, although I'm not sure what that's for.

My channel select screen looks like this:

Clicking "Start Scan" doesn't seem to do anything. The progress bar
(if that is what it is) that shows 0% in the above image does not
change. strace on Kaffeine just looks like it's in a select loop.

But I was able to use w_scan to create my channels.dvb file for my
area:

    w_scan -f a -c US -k > channels.dvb

I can now play some stations. My guess is my signal strength is not
very good. I can play stations for a few minutes but then they
eventually stop -- or the audio/video gets way out of sync.

A similar situation with mplayer. Playback with mplayer seems to
work for a few minutes but eventually the audio goes out of sync and
then mplayer starts to report errors or complains that my core 2 duo
thinkpad laptop is too slow.

Perhaps just a problem with ATSC.

Wish I could figure out the build problem so I could try the more
current version.

Thanks for the help, Nils. At least I have my channels listed and can
watch them -- if only for a few minutes. Good for my short attention
span.
