In essence, you are saying what I've been saying: that playing nice with
each other would yield better results. The resources are with gnome, but I
don't think the kde devs are listening or understand what is going on.

I 100% support your suggestion; it's common sense. I also understand the
technical issues, so I agree with David.

However, a rewrite of krunner to mono would be better, but working with
David to make Do a replacement for krunner would be my choice. krunner is
a toy compared to Do. But then you'd have to interface Do to Plasma. No
idea how that works.

I've had a look at Do's code - I wish launchpad used git - and I was
surprised to see that it's C#. But equally I'm encouraged, as c++ is just
the wrong way to be going these days. A Java derivative is hardly tight
code, and I remain unconvinced my mono, but it's progress of sorts.

I bet I could bash out working plug-in for Do far quicker than I could for
krunner. I might have a play tomorrow.

The idea (by someone in your bug thread) of replicating Do plug-ins in
krunner completely misses the point; both in terms of sharing and
usability. I thought the kde folk had seen the light with katapult... then
they killed it at the first opportunity!

Now, back to flying around my music collection at the speed of light
without ever lifting my fingers from the keyboard. And the locate plug-in?
I can't live without it now.
