How to have Ubuntu log into a Windows corporate network?

My understanding is that you will need to use kerberos to authenticate. This
lets your *nix box get it's login credentials from AD. To do this you'll also
need to get your net admin to give you permissions to authenticate.
I run a rogue ubuntu machine at work and just use samba to mount network
shares. Once I mount the first share each day, I don't have to authenticate
again. Most other network services are web based and simply require login
each time I use. The only issue I have is in selecting the right web browser
for each service since all were designed for IE and no one browser on my
system handles every page correctly.
Good luck.
