No, that's the loopback interface.  It should be the same on both machines.

From what I've read of the thread (not quite all of it), I'd suspect a DNS 
problem.  Does your router provide DHCP and DNS services, or do you rely on 
entries in the various computers' /etc/hosts files?

Sure sounds like one machine knows about the other, but not the other way 
around.
