I have a similar problem with an iP1500 under Kubuntu. Everything I've
found that supposedly works with Linux is rpm-based (not so much a
problem) and 32-bit (which is, I run the 64-bit version of Kubuntu).
I even went to the trouble of installing VirtualBox and WinXP 'cos I
have a CD-ROM with the Windows drivers on!
Of course, now I have the problem that Kubuntu recognises the hardware
but can't talk to it and WinXP has a bright shiny driver but can't see
the USB port!!! (Grrrrr)
