I have a similar motherboard (ASUS P5QL-EM) and it runs well with
Jaunty. The Intel video has exhibited problems, which were most
noticeable in 8.10. Specifically, running 3D applications with or
without compiz caused annoying flashing which made those applications
unusable. Using compiz further exacerbated the problem.

With 9.04, most problems related to the video went away using UXA
acceleration in the xorg.conf file. I still notice from time to time a
black square comes up that obscures other windows especially when I
use alt-tab to switch between windows. But this problem only appears
for a fraction of a second, so it's not a major issue. The other
problem that still persists is that every few days the video driver
goes south and I have to use special methods to reboot the system.
This might be a side effect of the UXA acceleration.

Other stuff works just out of the box, like the Gigabit ethernet lan,
the audio, stuff like that. I have not yet tried the HDMI nor the
eSATA/Firewire ports since I have no devices that take advantage of
them.
