I just upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid no sound

You might also loose video if you are unlucky... c.f. all the recent 
threads regarding intel graphics and Jaunty on this list....

My advice is not to upgrade to jaunty before checking to see if your 
hardware is supported properly (actually, thats always my advice when 
upgrading, but particularly in this case...)
