alsa issues

Hello everyone

I am having problems with a Toshiba L30-10X Laptop. 
Everything works fine except the sound system which has 2 problems:

1. Headphones and Speaker channels are swapped 
2. The volume on the "speakers" (well headphones in this case) is very
low. 

The soundcard uses a snd_hda_intel module and the model name is set to
toshiba in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf with the following line:

options snd-hda-intel model=toshiba

System is Ubuntu 9.04
