Notebook crashes while adding to docking station

Hallo,

while putting my notebook into it`s docking station it crushes every time. 
Starting the notebook in docking station or waking it up in there (from RAM) 
works fine. There has been no problem while using it with ubuntu 8.10. Has 
anybody an idea, whats going wrong?

I use Ubuntu 9.04
 * Kernel 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP i686
 * actual patch level (27.5.2009)
 * gnome 2.26.1
 * xorg 7.4-5ubuntu18

on a Dell Latitude D830 
 * Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7300 2.00GHz

I am using the nvidia drivers in version 180-44-ubuntu1. During docking the 
network has to change from WLan to wired ethernet.
