how to find available video ram

In what way is it not behaving like you expect ?

There is more to it than just the video ram. Correct me if I am wrong 
but the 945GM is an integrated intel chip sharing ram with the general 
system memory - don't expect anything like the same performance as a 
dedicated video card with its own 256MB of ram.
