Karl,

Installing from the website directly from the .deb is not suggested. You
will not receive any updates to the software unless you go to the
website yourself and get the new version (which a user is not likely to
do if they have a working program). When not using Jaunty a user should
set up the wicd repository so their software is kept up to date.


There is no false information on there, only a *smart* way of setting up
the program.
