100% CPU history in Jaunty

Nope. As I said I checked the usage in various programs. None of the
running apps are using up the CPU. Firefox uses some of the CPU, but
none of the programs add up to 100% of CPU.

What I now think is going on is that the powernow CPU scaling is not
working as it should. It DOES work. I can manually set the CPU from a
gnome applet in the task bar. But the ondemand setting does NOT scale
the CPU. Therefore, I think that what is happening is that powernow or
some related part of CPU scaling was broken in the upgrade, so that
now the CPU is running at full speed regardless of the load. Not sure
why this is, but thanks for the response. I will investigate further
