Your problem is not your settings for ubuntu-users at lists.ubuntu.com but the 
fact that gmail.com removes your postings from received mail.  You also might 
try your questions on kubuntu-users at lists.ubuntu.com as it is Kubuntu you are 
working with rather than gnome.
